I'm upset that they push halflife back that and I blame the hackers, but I also kind of blame valve. To have a game this big and have it connected to the internet so that hacker could get there hands on it. I really wonder if valve just need more time to polish the game and stream *crap*.

Wonder if they have picked up on the opposition of steam and are trying to work it out so that it isn't as offensive to everyone. I still doubt that I will pick the game up.

Umm, if it requires steam to play online, then yes. The graphics do look sweet, but I don't like the idea behind steam. Just more of "The Man" trying to crack down on people.;) :D

I totally agree. As soon as info about STEAM came to light, message boards everywhere were full of opposition from the community. That didn't sway Valve one bit. The only way to make them understand that we won't put up with it is to hurt them where it counts; profits. I won't buy the game because I don't want my money going to a company that would do this to its very loyal community.

Gee, I wonder what kind of point the hackers were trying to make??

just in case you were wondering... you don't HAVE to play multi via steam, if you want to play on Valve servers you do, but there's no spyware, so it's kinda like playing on gamespy arcade in a way. regular pub servers you can play on w/o steam. make sure you read all the facts before saying a game is crap and you won't play it.

What I said is that I won't buy it, not that I won't play it. Two different things... ;)

We'll just have to wait and see what happens with all this Steam crap. If they don't force you to use the service, I might actually buy it, but at this point I doubt it...

Well, just for clarification, I will only "borrow" it, not pirate it. If there's any game I want to play that I don't want to buy, a guy at work buys dang near any game out. All I have to do is wait till he's done playing it... ;)

Clarify borrowing from priating. In both cases, you didn't pay money for the game. You just otained a cd with the keycode easier.;)

exactly... i analogize your scenario to "you can't polish a turd" no matter how much you buff it... it's still sh*t :D

Well, it my not be exactly legal, but it's not quite making a copy for myself that I keep forever either. Once I borrow the game, it's actually mine (he gives it to me, which is legal). I then give it to someone else when I'm done with it (one of his other friends) and it keeps going till it stays with someone who wants it permanently. I do the same thing with some of my games. I figure, if I buy a game and I'm not gonna play it anymore after I finish it, why not give it away... :dunno:

Gee, that would almost make too much sense :D
